A brow lift, also known as a Forehead Lift, is a surgical procedure designed to lift the brow area. A brow lift can dramatically rejuvenate the upper face by relieving the sagging weight along the forehead and brow line, and reducing forehead wrinkles.

Where will my brow lift surgery be performed?
Dr. Jacono performs his brow lift procedures in his private operating suites, or when needed, at a local accredited surgical center.
What are the brow lift techniques used by Dr. Jacono?
Dr. Jacono performs a variety of brow lift techniques, each of which can be tailored to an individual patient’s unique needs. These include:
- Endoscopic Brow Lift - uses a tiny camera and monitor and small incisions.
- Temporal Brow Lift – elevates the tail of the brow, preferred by women looking for a feminine brow, and uses slightly longer incisions.
- Trichial and Pretrichial Brow Lift – these techniques elevate the brow. Although similar, the pretrichial technique shortens the forehead, while the trichial procedure does not.
- Direct and Indirect Brow Lift – preferred by men, especially those with male pattern baldness, and utilizes an incision along a horizontal brow furrow.
What happens during the brow lift procedure?
Dr. Jacono will begin the brow lift procedure with local anesthesia and IV sedation. Next, he will make several small incisions, using the predetermined brow lift technique. Once the desired corrections have been made, Dr. Jacono will close incision with sutures. The sutures may be either absorbable or removable. Finally, a bandage is then wrapped around the face. Most patients are ready to head home after a few hours rest.
How long does the brow lift take?
A brow lift will take from 30 minutes to one hour.
What type of anesthesia is used during a brow lift?
Anesthesia can be local or intravenous sedation. Dr. Jacono rarely uses general anesthesia.
Will there be scars after my brow lift surgery?
Scarring is minimal after Dr. Jacono’s brow lift procedure. Any scarring that does occur is well concealed within the natural creases of the forehead and the hairline, so they are rarely noticeable.
When will my brow lift stitches be removed?
A follow-up visit with Dr. Jacono will be scheduled about ten days post-op. At this time, he will remove the sutures. Many procedures will utilize dissolvable sutures that do not need to be removed.
What can I expect from my brow lift recovery?
Patients should arrange for a ride home from the surgical center, and may need to have assistance for the first several days as they recover. Swelling and bruising may persist for the first 7 days. Discomfort will be addressed with prescription pain medications. To keep swelling to a minimum, patients should keep their head elevated and sleep propped on pillows for the first several days. Cold compresses can also be helpful at reducing swelling, as well. Bandages can come off after 24 to 72 hours. Sutures will naturally be absorbed, but those that require removal will be taken at about 10 days post op.
When can I resume my normal activities, following my brow lift?
Most patients are feeling well enough to return to work in one to two weeks. Strenuous activities and exercise should be postponed for four to six weeks.
What are the possible risks or complications from a brow lift procedure?
Complications of brow surgery are rare, although they do sometimes occur. These can include scarring, raised hairline, nerve damage (although temporary numbness is not uncommon), blood clots, skin discoloration, and infection.
How much will a brow lift cost?
The cost of a brow lift can vary, depending on the level of correction involved in your specific procedure. According to 2014 statistics from the American Academy of Plastic Surgery, an average brow lift cost between 4 and 10 thousand dollars.
Will my brow lift be covered by insurance?
