Eye Lift - Eyelid Lift - Blepharoplasty

Each year, one hundred thousand men 
and woman undergo blepharoplasty, or
eyelid lift, to improve the way they look.
Droopy upper eyelids are the results of
excess sagging eyelid skin,and can make
you look older and impair vision. The
lower eyelids become puffy and bags
develop with age due to prolapse of 
fat underneath the eyes. These changes
often contribute to a worn and tired look.
This procedure cannot alter fine wrinkles
around the eyes nor sagging eyebrows.

Eyelid Lift Patient 1. Upper Eyelid Lift and Fat Transposition Lower Eye Lift. 
The upper eyelid lift removes fat bags and excessive skin, but the lower eyelid fat bags 
are moved into the deep under eye grooves. This patient has no eyelid surface wrinkles 
so there was no need for a skin peel or laser resurfacing

In upper eyelid lift surgery, Doctor Jacono first marks all the individuallines and creases 
of the lids in order to keep the incisions as invisible as possiblealong these natural 
folds. The incision is made and the preciseamount of excess fat,muscle, and loose 
skin that are contributing to theproblem are removed. 

In Lower Eyelid Lift Surgery, Doctor Jacono makes the incision in an inconspicuous
location just a few millimeters below the lash line and along the smile creases of the 
lower eyelid.  Again skin, fat and muscle are precisely removed. Extremely fine 
sutures are then used to meticulously close the incisions, thus minimizing the visibility
of any scar.

When Doctor Jacono determines that lower eyelid puffiness (eyelid bags) are solely the 
result of excess fat, the procedure can be done with an incision inside the eyelid, called 
a transconjunctival blepharoplasty eye lift , resulting in no external scars. Doctor Jacono has

In some cases of lower eyelid surgery it is necessary not to remove the fat bags under the eyes,
but "transpose" or move the fat into deep grooving under the eye.  This prevents
a "hollowing out" of the lower eyelids.
