Kybella® is one of the newest and most innovative injectables available today. As the first and only Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved to treat submental fat, Kybella® provides unmatched results for eliminating the double chin. Using a series of injections, performed over several sessions, Dr. Jacono can use Kybella® to restore a smooth, sculpted chin, creating a necklift without surgery.
Non Surgical Necklift with Kybella injections before and after patient 1: This patient had reduction of over 80% excess fatty tissue under her neck without any surgery thanks to 4 Kybella injection treatment sessions
Excess submental fat is a common problem. This fatty tissue can be the result of weight changes, genetic disposition, and the normal aging process. Diet and exercise can do little to improve the difficult area below the chin.
Created from Deoxycholic acid, a molecule naturally found in the human body, Kybella® aids in the breakdown of unwanted fatty tissue. Once injected, the injectable will damage the fat’s cell walls. The body is then able to safely metabolize and eliminate the dissolved fatty tissue.
Kybella injection before and after patient 2: After multiple Kybella injections this patient has good reduction of fat under the chin and an improve jawline contour. These injections do not remove additional neck skin excess in older patient’s further improvement can be obtained with a minimally invasive necklift surgery.
The results from Kybella® will take four to eight weeks to appear, as the body slowly breaks down fat deposits. Over next few months following treatment, patients will begin to notice a smooth, youthful appearance returning to their chin.
Kybella® is FDA approved for patients over the age of 18. The treatment is safe and provides significant results for both men and women, of any skin type or ethnicity. Kybella® may not be recommended for anyone with an active infection, bleeding disorder, or are pregnant. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Jacono will review each patient’s medical history and desired results to determine if Kybella® is the best technique for their needs.
Kybella® was created to treat excessive fullness and localized fatty tissue underneath the chin using a series of up to 50 small injections. The number will vary according the severity of submental fat. Dr. Jacono’s treatment will take less than half an hour. A topical or local anesthetic may be used before these injections for added comfort.
Kybella® is noninvasive, so healing is fast and requires little downtime. Many Kybella® patients are back at work the same afternoon. There are no restrictions on activities following the treatment, and even exercise can be resumed immediately.
How Does Kybella Work?
Depending on the patient’s needs, between two and four Kybella® sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, are required for optimal results. The benefits of treatment are permanent. When needed, Dr. Jacono may suggest complimentary treatments, such as Botox or dermal fillers, to provide optimal results for facial rejuvenation.
Kybella® is not for patients seeking immediate results. The body will need four to eight weeks to break down targeted fat cells, and only then will the benefits of treatment become noticeable. Most of Dr. Jacono’s patients will see their results begin to appear after one or two Kybella® sessions. The final results from Kybella® are permanent, as the dissolved fat cells will not reform.
Unlike liposuction, Kybella® holds little risk for complications or scarring. The most common side effects include mild redness at the treatment site, bleeding, bruising, and temporary numbness, but these will normally dissipate over the first 24 to 48 hours. More serious complications, such as difficulty swallowing, nerve damage, or facial asymmetry are rare. Dr. Jacono is expertly trained with Kybella®. He uses his own, innovative techniques to provide patients with safe and effective results.
