Ranking Methodology

Surgeons were recognized across six cosmetic surgery categories: Breast Augmentation, Liposuction, Facelift, Rhinoplasty, Eyelid Surgery, and Tummy Tuck. In the 2026 rankings, 240 surgeons were recognized for breast augmentation, 235 each for facelift and tummy tuck, 220 for liposuction, 215 for rhinoplasty, and 180 for eyelid surgery.

A total of 576 individual plastic surgeons received recognition across these categories. Within each procedure, the top 30 surgeons were individually ranked from #1 through #30, while the remaining recognized surgeons were listed alphabetically.

Surgeons whose practices exclusively focus on reconstructive procedures or non-elective reconstructive and corrective surgery were excluded from the evaluation. For the first time, the survey included plastic surgeons from the 25 U.S. states with the highest concentrations of practicing plastic surgeons: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The survey was conducted between April and May 2026 in collaboration with Newsweek. Thousands of medical professionals familiar with plastic surgery, including physicians, surgeons, plastic surgery clinic managers, and other healthcare specialists, were invited to participate in an online evaluation.

More than 10,000 votes were collected and analyzed for each cosmetic surgery category to determine the final rankings.
