Liquid facelifts are most beneficial in restoring lost volume in cheeks lifting the cheekbones, redefining the jaw-line minimizing the appearance of jowls, lifting sagging brows, removing dark under eye circles and diminishing lines and wrinkles.
Each liquid facelift is totally customized by Dr. Jacono to suit the patient’s particular needs. The treatment is a multi-layered approach based on a patient’s areas of concern and goals. It often involves the use of cosmetic fillers to fill in wrinkles, while other volumizing fillers may be selected for use deeper within the skin to offer significant contouring to the facial structure. Other products may be used to relax certain muscles in the face, providing a reduction in lines around the brows, eyes and even the cording or “vertical bands” in the neck. Often a combination of these treatments is used to enhance the overall look of the face, tailored to perfectly suit the patient’s particular goals and needs.

Liquid Face Lift Before and After 2. In this case the corners of the mouth were lifted using Botox, and the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and jawline were filled creating a rejuvenated lower third of the face and minimizing the appearance of jowls.
As part of the “liquid face lift” the jowl and jawline can be lifted with a combination of supportive filler injections and botulinum toxin injections. The jawline can be supported by using deep fillers over the jawbone underneath the jowling area. Doctor Jacono prefers Perlane®, Radiesse®, and Sculptra® for these treatments. The marionette lines that begin at the corner of the mouth and end at the chin in front of the jowl are also filled just under the skin. Here it is more common to use Juvederm® or Restylane® which are softer and cause less lumpiness. (https://www.newyorkfacialplasticsurgery.com/botox).
To help lift the neck and marionette lines botulinum toxin treatments are added. Thick bands on the front of the neck called platysmal bands can be softened with botulinum toxin in a subtle way. Marionette lines are further improved by injecting botulinum toxin into the muscle called the depressor anguli oris. This muscle pulls the corner of the mouth down, so when it is released the corner of the mouth lifts.
Often patients want their cheek lifted and the cheek bones to be fuller and less flat. You can almost think of the youthful cheek like a helium balloon just after it has been inflated. As it is deflated, the balloon is nothing more than a deflated shell. As this deflation of the cheeks occurs, the face goes from being a heart shape and becomes a square. Refilling the cheeks will lift them like a re-inflated balloon and re-establish the heart shape. The location at which we fill the cheeks is critical. The injections are placed deep over the cheek bones, supporting the face more than if just injected into the skin. Doctor Jacono prefers to use Perlane®, Radiesse® and Sculptra Aesthetic® in the cheeks as they tend to be denser and more supportive of the face than other fillers.
On average, the results of a liquid facelift will last approximately one year. However, this too is dependent upon the patient’s skin, lifestyle habits and the treatments used. The results can often be prolonged if the patient carefully follows all of the doctor’s instructions after the procedure and uses quality products to care for the skin. Many patients can also maximize their new youthful appearance by scheduling touch-up appointments over time. The end result is a rejuvenated appearance that can look 5 to 10 years younger without surgery or significant downtime. “Liquid face lifts” yield the best results in patients in their forties to sixties.
