Male Rhinoplasty New York - Learn more about the male nose job from New Yorks Top Rhinoplasty Surgeon Dr. Andrew Jacono.
Differences Between Male Rhinoplasty and Female Rhinoplasty
Differences between the sexes can be seen in their overall facial appearances. Dr Jacono believes the face of a man should be chiseled, while with women their faces should be delicate and heart shaped.
Just like faces noses of men and women differ in their aesthetic appearances. A man’s nose tends to be somewhat prominent and usually has a higher bridge and a bit more width to the mid-nose area. The skin of the nose is also different for men, as it is usually much thicker skin than a woman’s. The nose of a female is usually more defined with a subtle indentation along the bridge and their overall nose should be slightly shorter than that of a man.
There are also other differences in noses for men and women based on their ethnicity. Dr. Jacono will review each case as unique and identifies the differences and desires of the nasal width, the dorsal hump, and the columellar angle.
Rhinoplasty for Men
Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 1: This male rhinoplasty patient had a dorsal hump and a droopy nasal tip. Dr. Jacono performed a closed rhinoplasty procedure placing all incisions inside of the nose leaving no visible scars. The after photo was taken 2 weeks post-surgery. He is completely happy with his new nose which looks both natural and masculine.
Dr Jacono also takes into consideration your desired results. For men, they generally strive for a more prominent, powerful nose with very distinctive features. The nasal tip should be less rotated so that the angle between the upper lip and nose falls between 90 to 95 degrees. Whereas women, they tend to desire a petite nose with an upwards rotated tip.
In the end, there is a pretty fine line between what one patient believes a perfect nose is and what they want. During the consultation process with Dr. Jacono, he will explore your desired outcome and help clarify what your goals. He always uses computer morphing to help clarify the desired end results.
The Male Nose
As previously mentions, most men usually have a square face with a well-defined jawline. A few celebrities that fit that mold today are Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and Robert Downey Jr. It has been rumored for years that all three actors had cosmetic work done on their noses and chins to help them achieve that perfect chiseled look. Whether truth or fiction, many male patients of Dr Jacono will request a chin like Brad Pitt or a nose like Johnny Depp during their consultation. With this in mind, Dr Jacono will map out his aesthetic plans to help balance the integrity of the nose and maintain their masculine features. At times, he may suggest a chin augmentation procedure using a chin implant.
Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 2: This male patient wanted to fix his dorsal hump with some nasal tip refinement. Dr. Jacono recommended a chin augmentation as well to bring balance to his face. The after photo shows a more masculine profile and defined nose.
The Perfect Male Nose
Whatever the patients desired outcome is Dr Jacono will pay attention to the following:

Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 3: This young male patient underwent a closed rhinoplasty procedure to address his droopy tip and dorsal hump. The after photos show the improved nasal tip refinement and a properly angled nasal bridge.
Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 4: This young man wanted to refine his nasal tip and to widen his bridge. The after photos show a slightly rotated tip and a westernized nasal bridge.
Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 5: These male patients both wanted to have their dorsal bumps lowered to show a more natural slope of their noses. Their after photos show a much more defined dorsal hump with a proper slope.
Male Rhinoplasty Before and After Patient 6: This young man wanted to reduce the size and shape of his dorsal hump so that his nose whould have an appropriate distance from his face. The after photos show these subtle changes and the patients goals were met.
A closed rhinoplasty or an open rhinoplasty will be performed and Dr Jacono is an expert in both open and closed procedures. In the end, rhinoplasty is a uniquely tailored surgery that should be personally designed to meet each patients needs and desires
